Rhetoric in Renaissance and Baroque Music
How does having an understanding of rhetoric inform our performance, interpretation and critical judgement of renaissance and baroque music? Bridging the gap bewteen theory and practice, this lecture will attempt to show how having an understanding of the basics of classical rhetoric can give us tools to not only deepen our understanding and critical listening skills, but give us more scope in how we form our own interpretation as players of renaissance and baroque music.
The tutor will go through written documentation showing images as well as playing audio examples during the course of the talk.
