Recorder Fundamentals: Articulation for Recorder Players Part 2
Following on from Articulation Part 1, this workshop aims to show that we already employ double tonguing in everyday speach even when we are not aware of it.
This hour-long workshop will look at historical sources of recorder articulation practices and their musical context. Participants will be guided by the tutor through practical exercises designed to develop tongue-finger coordination. Whether a novice or a teacher wishing to expand your teaching techniques, this workshop helps the player explore strategies for the ongoing development of articulation skills on the recorder.
All materials required will be made available to the participants before the workshop.
What You'll Learn
Learn different double-tonguing patterns, how you already use them in everyday speach, and how to apply them to music in different contexts with strategies for building stamina and tongue-finger coordination.
Prerequisites
Please have a recorder to hand to play the exercises, preferably a treble but this is not essential as exercises will be provided for both F and C instruments. Participants will be on mute but may request to play to the group if desired. Please ensure a secure internet connection as the workshop will be held online using Zoom.
